This programme of work is led by Andrew Chitty, Professor of Media and Creative Industries, Challenge Director at UK Research and Innovation, and Creative Economy Champion for the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
The Creative Economy Champion for the Arts and Humanities Research Council works to build innovative, impactful and sustainable relationships between the Creative Industries and academic researchers. The key objectives of the role include:
- To provide thought leadership to the sector and to provide strategic advice to AHRC over current and future strategy and investments relevant to the Creative Industries
- To develop partnerships with industry bodies
- To develop a conceptual framework for creative research both in the UK and internationally and engagement and outreach to policy makers.
The Creative Research and Innovation collaboration forms a central part of the work of the Creative Economy Champion, bringing together research partners with creative businesses to explore the characteristics and impact of applied research in the Creative Industries.
